CONCA – MEETING MINUTES
MAY 28, 2013 Location: 380 N. Broadway, Jericho NY 11753
I. Meeting called to Order at 8:00pm by Rich Bentley
II. General Discussion (goals of CONCA & role of directors, officers, council) and Issues of Interest to the
County and Communities.
Lengthy interactive discussion ensued. Topics of interest to Board included emergency preparedness,
public safety, plume, drinking water, county land use, affordable housing, protecting waterways,
privatizing of parks, zoning issues, and general quality of life issues.
We discussed how these are all important issues and how we will form various ad hoc committees to
research and report on these items, first internally and then to all members at large. Should seek
committee members from the various districts as well.
III. Nomination of Officers
The Directors (consisting of a representative from each district – based on Assembly District Maps –
and appointed at April 30, 2013 meeting) nominated officers for various positions and a vote was
taken; Officers are as follows:
President Phil Franco
Vice-President Rich Bentley
Corresponding Secretary Claudia Borecky
Recording Secretary Bradley Schnur
Treasurer Sandra D’Arcangelo
IV. Website
CONCA will establish a website through neighborhoodlink.com. The cost is $120/year. Paul Franco
graciously offered to donate $100 towards the website. Bradley Schnur will serve as the
“webmaster” and will coordinate the procurement of the site.
V. Financial
It was agreed that CONCA would establish a bank account at Chase Bank. We will request an
exemption from the monthly service charge given the mission of CONCA.
VI. Scheduling
The next meeting is scheduled for June 27, 2013, time and location TBD.
It was suggested that the Directors meet monthly and that CONCA holds meetings for the
membership at-large at least quarterly (and more often if issues warrant)
